Out-of-Home respite care

At Jemasen Homecare, we understand the importance of offering out-of-home respite care to give family caregivers the opportunity to take a break while ensuring their loved ones receive high-quality care in a safe and supportive environment. Our out-of-home respite care services are designed for individuals who need temporary, short-term care outside their usual home setting, whether for a day, weekend, or longer duration.
Our team ensures that clients are cared for by trained professionals who are equipped to handle various medical, physical, and emotional needs, including individuals with special needs, developmental disabilities, dementia, or chronic conditions.
The goal of our out-of-home respite care is to provide family caregivers with peace of mind, knowing their loved ones are in safe, capable hands. It also offers the individual an opportunity for social interaction, skill-building activities, and a change of environment, which can be beneficial for their overall well-being. During this time, caregivers are encouraged to recharge, allowing them to return to their caregiving role refreshed and better able to provide long-term support.
Adults with developmental disabilities are matched with approved respite families who welcome them into their homes, providing a comfortable and structured experience. Each child is given a private bedroom and access to a designated bathroom. During their stay, the host family takes responsibility for:
– Nutritious Meals – Preparing and serving balanced meals and snacks.
– Safe Transportation – Ensuring travel to and from appointments or activities.
– Medication Support – Administering prescribed medications as required.
– Sensory & Outdoor Engagement – Incorporating activities such as walks or drives tailored to the child’s needs.
– Recreational Opportunities – Providing fun and engaging experiences to encourage socialization and relaxation.
To ensure the highest quality of care, all respite families go through a rigorous screening process, which includes:
1. Application & Interview – Assessing suitability and commitment.
2. Background & Vulnerable Sector Checks – For all household members aged 12 and older.
3. Health & Safety Verification – Including up-to-date immunization records for all eligible household members.
Our goal is to create a home away from home, where children feel comfortable and engaged while caregivers enjoy peace of mind knowing their loved one is in capable hands.
At Jemasen Homecare, we are committed to offering flexible, compassionate respite care services that meet the unique needs of both the individuals and families we serve. Contact us today to learn more about our out-of-home respite care services.
